Who I am

This site, aarti.blog, is written and run by Aarti Chandrseker in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This page explains what information the site collects when you visit, and what happens to it.

Newsletter

If you sign up for Slow Letters, your email address is collected and stored by Substack, which sends the letters. Substack’s own privacy policy applies to that data. You can unsubscribe from any letter with one click. I do not sell or share your email address.

Comments

When you leave a comment, the site stores the name, email and comment you enter, plus your IP address and browser details to help catch spam. Comments may be checked by Akismet, an automated spam filter. Your email address is never shown publicly.

Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics, through Google Site Kit, to understand which essays people read. It collects anonymous information such as pages viewed, rough location and device type. It does not tell me who you are.

Cookies

The site uses a small number of cookies: to remember your details if you choose to when commenting, to keep administrators logged in, and for analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Links and embedded content

Some pages include content from other sites, such as the Substack sign-up box. Those sites may collect data about you as if you had visited them directly.

Affiliate links

From time to time, a post may include an affiliate link. If you buy through one, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Any post with affiliate links says so at the top, and I only recommend things I have used myself.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete any personal information this site holds about you, including comments. Reply to any Slow Letter, or leave a comment asking me to get in touch, and I will respond.
